September 2021

Welcome to Ms Logue’s Third Class!
Some of the children with their t-shirt profiles.

The children had a very busy September! Amongst other things, we learned about making predictions when reading and how to write a recount in English; place value and addition in Maths; and all about Mé Féin in Gaeilge! The children also created some beautiful self portraits in Art and created some very inventive compositions in Music.

Our September English Display

A real highlight of our September was our sessions with GAA coach, Jay. Here’s a sneak peak!

The children have also been enjoying their course with archaeologist, Mark. Everyone had a great time in our Viking house examining artefacts and fossils and learning all about the Vikings. The children then worked in teams in The Big Dig, using their archaeology skills and uncovering all sorts!

History- The Industrial Revolution

The children were busy learning about the Industrial Revolution in Britain (1760-1820) during the last few weeks. Each pod researched a different topic to do with the industrial revolution including The Spinning Jenny, The Davy Lamp, Edward Cartwright and living conditions and the spread of disease during this period in England.
