History of Medicine

We have been looking at history in a different way this week. We have looked at a particular theme across history, the history of Medicine and Healthcare. Here we are learning about medicine and healthcare in Medieval England.

The Suffragettes

To celebrate the anniversary of women’s enfranchisement, we discussed the Suffragette movement in Britain and Ireland. We learned about an important Irish suffragette, Hanna Sheehy Skeffington.

We researched an important Irish woman (Mary Robinson, Hanna Sheehy Skeffington, Rosie Hackett etc.) and then presented our research to the history club group. We really enjoyed learning about the Suffragettes!
